Hey Jacob, Health is something so difficult to take care of and so easy to lose. If we only used half of the time we spend watching the news or some negative things to dedicate time to our health. We could go for a run, looking for ways to eat healthy, meditating, or just time for relax. It is very true what you say in your article positivity must come first, staying positive helps to maintain a healthy and balanced life.
Totally agree. Thanks for the support.
Well done, Jacob great post. Keep up the good work.
Thank you.
Sadiaameer182, thank you for this great post! I love your suggestions about eating healthy food and getting enough exercise and how it can improve your mental health. In my opinion, the single most important thing a person can do is have positive thoughts. Sometimes, I will stop what I’m going, close my eyes and find some positive thoughts. And, as you say, don’t let others get you down. This is great advice for all of us!
Thank you so much for the support. We have actually got a post coming out on the 6th of February 2021 which is tomorrow about Foods that help mental health.
Hi there, thank you for sharing this article with us about how to improve mental health.
Mental health is so important, and I know very well how everything changes when you become sleep deprived.Such a great overview of things we can do to maintain or improve our mental health. Most things are simple things to do, but great reminders to refresh ourselves how important they are.
As you describe in this article, gratitude is such a good practice to maintain or improve good mental health. I love to practice gratitude and do find this really works. We have a gratitude jar we put daily notes in with things we feel grateful for in our home.
Do you have any tips for some other activities you find effective to practice gratitude on a daily basis, especially with younger kids?
Jude
Some activities you should try especially as a child would be going out on your bike, drawing or simply helping your parents with the shopping. If you would like an entirely dedicated post targeted towards younger children please let me know!
I read through your site and there is a lot of Positive, Good Vibes going on here. Every day this is the way I live my life. I keep positive, when others start to nag about something I change attempt to change how they are looking at things. I try to turn their bad comments into good thoughts and it is funny, I always have 3 to 5 people a day in my office and once in a while they have each said to me…” I like coming in here – this is my happy space. It is so inviting in your office and I leave feeling better than when I came in.” That in itself brightens my day. I have to be careful not to take on their bad energy though. I throw it away. Thank You for all the useful information here – Eating Healthy to Keep Your Mood In Balance, Excersize to Keep Your Body and Mind In Balance – Getting Enough Rest – Keeping in Touch with other people – Social Contact and Your Mental Health. Mental health is such an important topic especially now with so many restrictions due to COVID.
The mental and emotional harm this pandemic has caused worldwide is astronomical.
Preventing people from making a living, visiting family, and socializing with friends has only compounded many mental illnesses and has caused many more.
These clearly defined methods of taking care of our mental health are so important and they work.
It is also important to call, skype, zoom whatever platform works for you, to check up on family and friends and see how they are coping.
You reaching out to them may be just what they needed.
Personally, when it has been too long since seeing or hearing from family my own mental health is affected. I feel down and can’t shake the negative feelings as easily as normal. A simple phone call with one of my kids is so restorative.
If the lack of socialization can have such a profound effect on me, I wonder how much more devastating would that be for someone battling a mental illness already?
We can help each other, even distantly, especially with today’s technology.
Thanks for bringing awareness to this very serious topic.
I agree. Just follow everything I have told you today and I hope everything gets better for you. Please get in contact if you need to talk. Also we will have a follow up ost soon!
Now That was an awesome analogy. I do a lot of mental health therapy within myself. It is a constant battle. What I don’t understand is why the negative mental thoughts stays longer then the positive? It’s like the negative creeps in from nowhere and the positive you have to constantly force them to come in. Why is that?
It is good to get this advice and suggestions on how to stay positive and increase your mental health with exercises and meditation, all of this can help you if you work on it, I wanted to as you if you notice stress or anxiety symptoms in other people what can you do to help them? do you just suggest the same methods you explained here, or is there a more proactive approach that you can take?
I suggest going with what I have told you today. But of course, there are other ways to go forward with things!
