Cancer is a horrible disease and something, not one person deserves to go through. But unfortunately, cancer does affect 1/3 of us statistically and can be lethal.
That is not to say though that there are no ways around it. There are many methods for treatment, a few of which we will go into today. As well as prevention, the top 5 causes of cancer and what this awful condition actually is.
What Causes Cancer?
Your body is always producing cells, they say that every second a new cell is being produced. But sometimes cells are dysfunctional and don’t work. Your body won’t allow this and won’t let it enter into the body.
The body will either dispose of the cell or repair but what is to happen if a cell does get into the body?
This can happen but most of the time is nothing serious, but say this broken cell lands in the lungs. This cell will begin to rapidly grow and duplicate into a lump of tissue called a tumour. This can either be malignant or benign.
What is the difference between malignant and benign tumours?
Well it’s quite simple. Malignant means the cells are not working in the part of the body it has landed which would mean cancer. Imagine having a large lump of cells in you what don’t do what they are told this would cause major health issues, organ failures, weakness, nausea and you name it.
Benign is a bit different, this is a lump of cells which are working just fine and will cause no health effects.
But please go to your Gp you are worried. Please be aware its not unheard of for benign tumours to turn malignant.
What causes cancer?
There are thousands of reasons Cancer may occur. There does not have to be a reason as it can even hit the healthiest people. But here are 5 common reasons which seem to pop up.
Bad physical health. (Lack of exercise or diet. )
Cancer can occur due to a bad immune system and the less of a healthy state
your body is in, the weaker your immune system will be.
Fatty and oily foods you should avoid aswell as to much sugar and salty foods.
You should try you’re best to do more exercise if you feel you class as unfit, go to your gp to help you do this properly.
Pollution / Radiation.
These two we have put under the same category due to our has the same concept. The two of these affect everyone in 2020 and onwards due to industrialisation.
Even putting your phone under your pillow when you go to sleep at night puts you at a higher risk of cancer due to radiation waves going straight to your brain.
Pollution travels in the air and had a few reasons it may occur, its main cause is fossil fuels and not disposing plastic properly but there are other reasons of it occurring.
Poor mental health / stress.
Doctors do not know for definite why this is but it’s true, your stress can have a great impact of your chances of getting cancer. It can often be from tension on the brain but is most likely, your brain not functioning in its usual state. (body doesn’t like this)
It’s best to go to your gp to talk to them if you feel you have bad mental health.
Sunlight (Ultraviolet radiation)
Yes its true, light from the sun can actually cause cancer. Most commonly skin cancer, this is because the light contains a type of radiation called UV or ultraviolet.
This is a type of radiation that our bodies really can’t handle. So it’s vital you where the correct sun cream for the right place, so do you’re research.
Smoking tobacco.
Smoking tobacco although a natural good, includes toxins which are addictive and have other various health risks.
Smoking is advertised as the biggest cause of cancer and some may say otherwise, but we are sure it gives you a much higher risk than non smokers.
We fully advise smokers to start their process to stop smoking as soon as possible.
What are the types of treatments for cancer?
There are not many big ways to get cancer and there is not a treatment that is certain to work. But there are ways for doctors to get around things.
Surgical cancer treatment.
The first option that doctors consider when tackling cancer is surgery. So cutting the tumour out, this many be done party by part and comes with its risks ; infection, missing cancer, spread of cancer, seizures, comas.
But compared to other treatments, considering the cancer has not spread to much is ideal.
Chemotherapy.
This is more of a last resort, but if the cancer gets so bad, many parts of the body the doctors may choose to use this.
Basically what chemo is, hundreds of waves going through the body destroying cancer cells, but there is a con.
The chemo actually destroys good cells aswell as the cancer. This will cause a weaker immune system and you are less likely to survive future cased and other diseases.
Radiotherapy.
So radio therapy is similar to chemo except it targets a smaller portion of the body. This uses strong waves which can cause real damage to our skin and organs in some cases.
The waves actually burn through the skin so it can get to the cancer. Although more effective then chemo, this takes much less time and is more painful.
Remedies to increase survival chance.
- Drink water
Simply drinking water can help you as it includes great minerals to boost your immune system.
- Improve physical wellbeing and diet.
Exercise as much as possible but try not to go to crazy, don’t hurt yourself in the process. Also fix your diet of there are any issues with it, we suggest talking to your gp to assist you.
- Meditate
Meditation will keep you calm and give you a positive way of thinking. Not forgetting the reduce in stress out will bring.
- Try eating organic foods, avoid fat and herbal teas.
These things will repair your immune system and bring new mineral and vitamins to the body. It should bring some great benefits to the body also.

When I read the part about the lack of exercises, it hit me and I paused for a while. I haven’t been working out for about a month and I had noticed that my immune system is getting lower and you’re definitely right that anyone can get cancer, I guess I definitely need to start jogging tomorrow morning! How often should we workout regularly in order to maintain good health?
To be honest, even walking around the house or taking the dog for a walk will be brilliant. But jogging is great! I say half an hour a day is fine, even if that is just a walk to the shops and back.

It is important that we are educated about cancer and how we can how it can be treated. There are a lot of alternative therapies which can be beneficial but it is important that people utilise the treatments available that are recognised by doctors. You should never put yourself at risk
